Plants, Paws and Pillows

Plants, Paws and Pillows

If your dog sleeps in your bed (or, let’s be honest, like Rieko takes over your bed), your bedroom can still be snuggly, stylish, and totally dog mum-approved.
It's all about the right mix of washable, wonderful, and a little bit woofy.

Let’s get into how to create a bedroom that’s built for cuddles, quotes, and a little dog hair in your dreams.

1. Snuggle proof bedding: Your sheets should be ready for paws, naps, and muddy moments.

Tip: Choose high-thread count cotton, linen blends, or machine-washable quilts.  I avoid whites and neutrals as Rieko's black fur doesn't blend too well with those colours.

2. Cushions that speak your Dog Mum design: Layer your cushions at the head of your bed or on a bench at the foot of you bed.  Mix sizes, shapes, colours and textures.

Tip: I match my cushions to my mood, always colourful but sometimes a bit more snuggle for those nights I need to curl up.

3. Pup safe plant vibes: Plants improve air quality, reduce our stress and are great for our creativity.

Tip: Keep them dog friendly, like spider plants and golden palms.

4. Pup's Sleep Zone: They may start in your bed but they may also want their own bed through the night.

Tip: Keep their spot close.

Your bedroom should reflect the real you and be fresh with good vibes, and that includes your furbaby.
With a few stylish swaps and the right mix of cosy, you can create a space that feels restful, personal, and totally dog-mum chic.

And if anyone asks why there’s a cushion on your bed that says “Don’t make me choose” — just smile. You already did.
